Cookie Policy

Detailed disclosure of tracking and session technologies.

LAST UPDATED:JUNE 2026

1. No Cookies Policy (Our Stance on Tracking)

MegaTools is designed to be as non-intrusive as possible. We do not deploy first-party tracking, advertising, or analytical profiling cookies from the megatools.tech domain. We believe that developer utilities should operate without leaving tracking markers or cross-site monitoring logs on your hardware.

2. Utilization of Browser LocalStorage and SessionStorage

Instead of cookies, we use built-in browser client-side storage technologies (specifically LocalStorage and SessionStorage) to deliver a seamless user experience. We use these technologies to store: (a) UI theme settings (`data-theme`) so that the dark/light mode is preserved across visits; (b) temporary state variables to keep your current input text visible if you navigate between tools in the same category. This data is strictly local, never leaves your computer, and is not accessible by our servers. You can wipe this data at any time through your browser's settings.

3. Third-Party Advertising Network Cookies

Our advertising partners may utilize cookie technology within the ad frames displayed on our site. These cookies are set by the respective ad networks (such as Google AdSense or compliant contextual ad engines) to prevent fraud, count ad views, and ensure you do not see the same banner repeatedly. We configure our ad codes to request non-personalized ads, limiting cross-site profiling cookies. For inquiries regarding cookie compliance, contact privacy@megatools.tech.

4. Wiping Client Storage and Disabling Cookies

You have complete control over browser storage. You can configure your browser to block cookies, clear local storage upon closing, or notify you when new storage requests are made. To purge all states created by MegaTools, open your browser Settings, navigate to Privacy & Security, select Cookies and Site Data, and click "Clear Data" for megatools.tech. Disabling LocalStorage will only revert your interface theme back to our default dark mode setting without affecting the core functionality of our local tools.
